Science, God and Me (part 2)

In the earlier blog with the same title, I attempted to show how we are just a tiny pixel in a snap shot of the mega movie that opens with the Big Bang and continues today in 2018 and goes on into the future beyond us until it ends with Armageddon.

Christians, however, believe that despite us being the tiniest of dots in the created world, God knows everyone by name.

This is what the Bible records:

  • When Jesus prayed he referred to God as Father

  • When Jesus taught his disciples to pray he said start with ‘Our Father’

  • In Mathew’s gospel Jesus said ‘even the hairs on your head are numbered’ meaning that God knows us very well.

  • In Hebrews we read ‘no creature is hidden from God’s sight’ meaning we cannot hide from God

  • In the Old Testament book of Job, we read ‘For he (God) looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens’

  • We also know from the Bible that all people are equal in God’s eyes. When St Paul wrote to the Church in Galatia he said ‘There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

In conclusion: Christians believe that God knows each individual and that everyone is equal in God’s eyes.
